July 4th, 2009: Waxahachie Parade and TEA Party!

Posted by Kevin Crouch on June 25, 2009

On July 4, 2009, the Ellis County Conservative Youth, alongside the Ellis County Conservatives, will be marching in the Crape Myrtle Festival Parade through Dontown Waxahachie, and attending a TEA (Taxed Enough Already) party rally at Getzendaner Park immediatley following the parade.

There will be music and several speakers, including myself!

I’m very excited to see how the day plays out. If you are standing in the crowd and want to stand for liberty, march with us in the parade to Getzendaner Park where we will rally the cause of liberty!

Parade begins at  10, and the rally follows immediately after. Hope to see you there!

As politically active registered Republicans who do not always vote the party line, we were highly disappointed in our first attendance of a tea party July, 4, 2009 in Waxahachie.

It is not a non partisan event when a respectable and gifted speaker from a non-Republican conservative party is selectively singled out and introduced by the commentator with negative comments. No other speaker was subjected to this inappropriate introduction.

Will we attend again? Probably….because we are for the return of the government to the people. However, after witnessing the events yesterday, it re-enforces heavy doubt as to whether or not the Republican party can rebuild their party to that of truly representing American conservative and ethical values.

I was the MC for the event and there were no speakers introduced with negative comments. Divisive comments like this are completely uncalled-for. Rest assured, you are coming to the defense of someone who was not offended. I hope that you will remain in the Tea Party movement, but please, let your skin thicken up a bit before the next one. We are not a politically correct movement, so don’t expect politics as usual.
